If the reports that have recently surfaced are correct, The Apple Watch Series 10 will be the biggest wearable refresh in years. not just to functions but also to design. However, this change in look may come accompanied by bad news: currently available straps would not be compatible with the next generation of watches.
According to @KosutamiSanwho, who has proven in the past to have reliable information about upcoming developments in Apple’s line of accessories, those from Cupertino are working on redesigning the mechanism that allows the straps to be attached to the device. Because of this, it would lose compatibility with previous generations.
“The connectors for the next-generation Apple Watch have undergone a complete redesign. If you have old wristbands, you better sell them. This is 100% true.”
To some extent, this news should not surprise us. In August Mark Gurman, a journalist for Bloomberg and one of the most reliable sources about future Apple products revealed that also known as Apple Watch X will have a new design. This would also affect the strap fastening system.
One option that has been explored is a magnetic mechanism. This would take up much less space in addition to making the strap easier to attach or remove. The above would help the Apple Watch Series 10 to have a more stylized design and of course, there would be more room for internal components. Those led by Tim Cook could, for example, integrate a larger battery.
“Individuals contributing to the development of the new Apple Watch note that the system takes up less space, potentially allowing for a larger battery or extra components.”
Mark Gurman
The problem, of course, is that all these new features will leave existing straps forgotten. If this becomes a reality, there will be widespread discontent.
One of the many advantages of the Apple Watch is its compatibility with old straps. Many people have changed the generation of their watches but keep the straps to expand their collection. With the redesigned Apple Watch Series 10, we’ll have to start this collection from scratch.
Our new look also boasts the Apple Watch Watch 10 two long-awaited features. The first is a blood pressure monitor, which Apple has been working on for years. It wasn’t easy to develop, of course, as it involved integrating a fairly complex mechanism into a very small device. So it seems that Apple has managed to overcome these obstacles. On the other hand, we have sleep apnea detector disorder in which breathing stops.
If Apple sticks to the same plan as previous years, the Apple Watch Series 10 will be introduced in September 2024. This will mark an important moment in the history of smartwatches because, as already mentioned, the new features introduced in recent years have not convinced many to update their device. That could change next year with the finally redesigned model.
